Maria Svensson defends PhD on ECS and cognitive function

On saturday, June 11th, 2016, Maria Svensson defended a PhD-thesis at the University of Lund in Sweden. She presented results of an interesting body of research on the cognitive effects of ECS in rodents. In short: ECS proved to improve cognitive flexibility, and provoke retrograde amnesia, leaving pattern separation ability untouched. The promotor of the thesis was prof dr Anders Tingström (with Maria on the photograph), who is known for his outstanding track-record on ECS-induced hippocampal neurogenesis, gliogenesis and vasculogenesis.
